Start with 4 sessions, or take 8, 12, up to 16 — the number of sessions and the schedule follow your family's needs. Pieces go home the same day; special pieces are fired and glazed at the Light Education workshop and delivered to your door. The same curriculum we have taught in Jakarta's partner schools since 2014.
Children learn the core ceramic techniques — pinch, coil, slab, relief, and painting — through projects that finish in a single session. Most pieces go home on their board the same day; two special pieces per level are fired and glazed at our workshop, then painted by the child.

🔥 fired & glazed at our workshop, back in 7–14 days; everything else goes home the same day. These are a few of the 96 projects across six levels — 16 sessions per level, one piece per session.
Six levels, 96 pieces, a shelf full of things made by hand. Primary children start with bowls and small animals, middle schoolers build hollow characters and reliefs, senior students design pieces with a purpose and learn to throw on the wheel. Join at any level that suits your child's age and ability — no need to start from the beginning, and you can stop whenever you like.
Fill in the form and we'll message you on WhatsApp within one working hour to set up a trial class. Your child shapes their first piece and takes it home.
Private, with a teacher who comes to your home with all the materials, or online with a clay kit we ship ahead. Decide the number of sessions (from 4) and the schedule.
Two pieces per level go to the Light Education workshop to be fired and glazed, then delivered home within 7–14 days. Every level ends with a report, a certificate, and a mini exhibition.

Clay makes hands, eyes, and patience work together. After a day in front of screens, this is a pause that produces something you can hold.
Pinching, rolling, joining, smoothing — the best fine-motor practice for primary children, and a lesson in persistence for older ones.
No waiting for months. One session, one finished piece carried home — your child feels capable straight away.
From an idea in the head to a shape in the hands.
Clay can't be rushed; children learn to wait and try again.
Finger strength, pressure control, two-handed coordination.
Presenting their work to parents at the end of every level.
Starting, fixing, and completing a project until it's done.
Learning to hear a teacher's comments and improve, without losing heart.
The same system we use in partner schools, now for your family.
For private classes, the teacher checks in by GPS on arrival and checks out when finished. You know exactly when it started and ended.
Every session, the teacher uploads photos and a short video of your child at work — you can watch even from the office.
What was learned today, what went well, what to practise — written by the teacher, sent to your WhatsApp.
You're told when a piece goes into the kiln, when it's glazed, and when it's on its way home — nothing "gets lost at the workshop".
At the end of a package your child receives a progress report and an official Light Education certificate, just like students at our partner schools.
Something came up? Let us know a day ahead and the session is moved, not lost.
Every Ceramic Lab teacher holds a teaching certification and teaches ceramics daily at Light Education's partner schools.
Every teacher is Child Safeguarding certified through TeachUp and bound by Light Education's written code of conduct.
Every teacher is certified in HSI First Aid and CPR Training — ready to act should anything happen.
The clay and paints we use are non-toxic and used in partner-school classes every week. Sharp tools stay with the teacher; tables are covered; hand-washing is part of the class routine.
1 child, 90 minutes, at home or a place of your choice. The teacher brings clay, boards, tools, and paints; pieces to be fired go with the teacher to the workshop and come back to you.
4–6 children, 60 minutes, by video call. The clay and tool kit is shipped before class; the teacher guides step by step on screen.
Learn in person with friends, with pottery wheels and a kiln on site.
Our studio is being prepared for in-person ceramics classes: small-group work tables, pottery wheels, drying racks, and a display area. Meanwhile, private and online classes run as usual.
Opening date will be announced on this page.
Private 1-on-1, together with a sibling, or a small group with friends. At home, at school, at a café, or online. Weekday afternoons, weekends, or an intensive during the school holidays. A birthday package, a summer class, a wheel-throwing class for teens or adults, or a special piece for a family occasion? Just tell us what you need — we'll build the class with you. No fixed packages, no rigid minimums.

Each session your child receives up to 1 kg of clay, sculpting tools, rolling tools, acrylic paints and brushes, and a work board to carry the piece home. For private classes the teacher brings it; for online classes the kit is shipped to your home before the class begins.
Firing and glazing for the special pieces is included. Want an extra piece fired, or a particular glaze colour? Can be ordered individually at any time.

A 2-hour party at home or a venue. 6–12 children each shape one piece — a bowl, a small animal, or a name tile — that becomes the party favour. We bring the teacher, clay, and tools; pieces can be fired and delivered to the birthday child's home.

For schools that want their own ceramics class: 2–3 days of teacher training using the Ceramic Class books (6 levels, 96 projects), complete with lesson plans, student books, and firing at our workshop. Or leave it to us as an after-school programme, as in our partner schools.

One table, one project: parent and child shape together in a 2-hour weekend session. The result is a matching pair — a "Dad & me" bowl, two twin turtles — fired and delivered home. Perfect for Mother's Day, Father's Day, or simply a weekend.
Ask about Family ClassLearn to throw on the wheel from scratch: centring, opening, pulling walls. For middle and senior high students, parents, or a class for two. We provide the wheel and all tools.
A voucher for 4 sessions + a clay kit, sent as a physical or digital card in the giver's name. A gift that doesn't end up in a cupboard.
You host 4–6 neighbourhood children; the teacher comes once a week with all materials; the cost is shared and the host's child learns free.
Your child makes one small product — a magnet, a charm, a mini bowl — we fire 10–20 pieces, and they sell them to family & friends at a mini bazaar. 4–6 sessions, closing with a simple sales report.
A graduation keepsake: a whole cohort makes their own name tiles or bowls, fired and glazed. For schools or parent committees.
Clay Party at scale for 30–100 employees' children; clay keepsakes made by the children themselves. Proposal available for HR.
Short 2–4 session packages: Eid decorations, Christmas ornaments, Independence Day lanterns, New Year bowls.
A single 90-minute "shape your own bowl" session for communities, cafés, bookshops, or social groups. An easy first step before a package.
The same curriculum and teachers these schools use for their after-school programmes.
School names are shown as references for Light Education's after-school programmes; they are not sponsors of Ceramic Lab.
After signing up you receive an invitation link. Every friend who joins any package through that link adds one free session for your child and theirs. No limit.
Yes. We use non-toxic clay and acrylic paints, the same ones used in our partner-school classes every week. Sharp tools stay with the teacher, and hand-washing is part of the class routine. If your child has a skin allergy, let us know before the trial class.
Less than you'd think. The teacher brings a table cover and work boards; the child wears an apron or old clothes. Dried clay sweeps up and wipes off with a damp cloth — it doesn't stain.
Not all, and they don't need to be. Most pieces go home the same day on their board and air-dry. Two special pieces per level are fired and glazed at the Light Education workshop and delivered home within 7–14 days. Want another piece fired? It can be ordered individually.
The clay, tools, and board are shipped to your home before class. The teacher guides step by step over a video call with a camera on their hands, and sees each child's work through the child's camera. Pieces for firing can be sent or collected by courier to our workshop.
From Level 3, children get short turns on the wheel with the teacher. Full wheel throwing classes are available for middle and senior high students and adults; we provide the wheel and tools. Ask on WhatsApp.
Sessions can be moved with a day's notice. If you stop, remaining sessions can be transferred to another child or kept for up to 3 months.
Online with a kit: free, and we ship the trial kit. Private at home: a small charge for the teacher's transport, refunded if you continue to a package. No obligation after the trial.
No cost, no obligation to continue. Fill in the form; we'll arrange the rest.
