Start with 4 sessions, or take 8, 12, up to 15 — the number of sessions and the schedule follow your family. Every design is printed and delivered to your home. The same curriculum we have taught in 25+ international schools in Jakarta since 2014.
Children learn layers, shapes, text and colour through projects with an immediate purpose. Pick 4 favourites for a short package, or complete them all and finish with a mini exhibition for parents.

And that is only Level 1. Levels 2–6 add 70 more projects: hoodie, pillow, puzzle, wall clock, tote bag, umbrella, event ticket…
Six levels, 84 projects, one portfolio. Primary kids start with mugs and stickers, middle schoolers design packaging and patterns, high schoolers finish with a logo, a brand guide and a portfolio ready to take anywhere. Join at any level that fits your child's age and ability — no need to start from the beginning, and stop whenever you like. Most want to continue, because the next level's projects are even cooler.
Fill in the form and we will WhatsApp you within one working hour to set a 60-minute trial. Your child makes their first design right away.
Small online groups, or private with a teacher who comes to your home. Choose the number of sessions (from 4) and the schedule: weekday afternoons or Saturdays.
We print and deliver the designs in stages throughout the level. Every level ends with a report card, a certificate and a mini exhibition.
Children are in front of screens every day. At Design Lab that screen time produces something they can hold.
Doctors, entrepreneurs, teachers, content creators — everyone needs to communicate ideas visually. A core skill of this century, not a hobby.
No waiting for months. One session, one finished product — your child feels capable right away.
From an idea in the head to an image on screen.
Sizes, margins, colours — the small things that make the difference.
Presenting their work to parents at the end of every level.
Files, formats, resolution, how printing works.
Starting, fixing and completing a project all the way.
Learning to hear comments and improve, without losing heart.
The same system we use in partner schools, now for your family.
For private classes the teacher checks in by GPS on arrival and checks out when done. You know exactly when the session started and ended.
Every session the teacher uploads photos and a short video of your child at work — you can watch even from the office.
What was learned today, what went well, what needs practice — written by the teacher, sent to your WhatsApp.
At the end of the package your child receives a progress report and an official Light Education certificate, just like students in our partner schools.
Design Lab teachers are the same teachers who teach daily in our partner international schools, with a track record we can show you.
Something came up? Let us know a day ahead and the session is moved, not lost.
Every Design Lab teacher holds a teaching certification and teaches daily in Light Education's partner international schools.
Every teacher is certified in Child Safeguarding through TeachUp and bound by Light Education's written code of conduct.
Every teacher is certified in HSI First Aid and CPR Training — ready to act should anything happen.
GPS check-in on arrival, activity photos and a report every session. Parents may sit in at any time; all communication with children goes through Light Education channels.
4–6 children, 60 minutes, by video call. The teacher sees every child's screen.
1 child, 90 minutes, at home or a place of your choice. The teacher brings everything; projects follow your child's interests.
Learn face to face with friends, in a space designed for children.
Our studio is being renovated for in-person classes: small-group classrooms, a gallery wall for student work, and a print corner to watch designs become real things. Meanwhile, online and private-at-home classes run as usual.
The opening date will be announced on this page.
Private 1-on-1, together with a sibling, or a small group of friends. At home, at school, at a café, or online. Afternoons, weekends, or an intensive during school holidays. A birthday package, a summer class, or a special project for a family event? Just tell us what you need — we build the class with you. No fixed packages, no rigid minimums.

Bought once, used throughout the package. Items are delivered in stages as each design is finished; the short 4-session package can choose a small kit of 4 items.
Want more prints or other products (tote bag, pillow, puzzle)? Order individually any time.

A 2-hour party at home or at the venue. 6–12 children each design one item — a mug, T-shirt or tote bag — which becomes the party favour. We bring the teacher, laptops and materials; the prints are delivered to the birthday child's home.

An intensive of 3 or 5 consecutive days, 2 hours a day, one project a day, ending with a mini exhibition on the last day. Online or at home/an agreed venue. Ideal for the June–July and December breaks.

For schools that want their own graphic design class: a 2–3 day teacher training using the Design Lab books (6 levels, 84 projects), complete with lesson plans, student books and Print Manager access. Or let us run it as an after-school programme, as in 25+ partner schools.

One table, one project: parent and child design together in a 2-hour weekend session. The result is a matching pair — a "Dad & me" mug, twin family T-shirts. Perfect for Mother's Day, Father's Day, or just a weekend.
Ask about Family ClassA voucher for 4 sessions + printed kit, sent as a physical or digital card in the giver's name. A gift that won't end up in a cupboard.
You host 4–6 neighbourhood children; the teacher comes once a week; the cost is shared and the host's child joins free.
Your child designs one product, we print 10–20 pieces, and they sell them to family & friends at a mini bazaar. 4–6 sessions, ending with a simple sales report.
8–12 sessions building a portfolio and personal brand guide for teens who are serious or preparing for a design school or major.
A graduation keepsake: the whole year group designs its own T-shirt or mini yearbook. For schools or parent committees.
A large-scale Design Party for 30–100 employees' children; T-shirt/mug favours designed by the children themselves. Proposal available for HR.
Short 2–4 session packages: Eid cards & envelopes, Christmas decorations, Independence Day, a New Year family calendar.
A single 90-minute "design your own mug" session for communities, cafés, bookshops or social groups. A light first step before a package.
The same curriculum and teachers these schools use for their after-school programmes.
School names are shown as references for Light Education's after-school programme; they are not Design Lab sponsors.
After registering you receive an invitation link. Every friend who joins any package through it adds one free session for your child and theirs. No limit.
Any laptop or tablet that can open a browser. There is no software to buy.
Yes. Level 1 starts from zero: opening files, using a mouse/trackpad, choosing colours. We welcome Grade 1 through high school; for kindergarten-age children, check with us on WhatsApp first.
Online: small groups of 4–6, 60 minutes, more economical, good for children already comfortable with a computer. Private: 1 child (or siblings), 90 minutes, the teacher comes and guides in person — faster progress.
Designs are printed once finished and delivered in stages; usually 7–14 working days after the related session. We deliver within Jakarta; other cities by courier.
Sessions can be moved with one day's notice. If you stop, remaining sessions can be transferred to another child or kept for up to 3 months.
Yes. All design files are handed to parents in an editable format, and the printed products belong to your child.

No cost, no obligation. Fill in the form and we arrange the rest.
