Start with 4 sessions, or take 8, 12, up to 16 — the number of sessions and the schedule follow your family's needs. Every session is one experiment your child can see, touch, and take home — with a little science journal they fill in themselves. The same curriculum we have taught in Jakarta's partner schools since 2014.
Children learn science concepts — reactions, pressure, density, light, acids and bases — through experiments that finish in a single session. Each one ends with the question "why did that happen?" and a journal page they draw themselves.

And many more: moon craters, elephant toothpaste, the iodine clock, traffic-light water… These are a few of 96 experiments across six levels — 16 sessions per level, one experiment per session. At the final level your child designs their own experiment and presents it like a young scientist.
Six levels, 96 experiments, one full science journal. Six books that grow with your child. Kindergarten and early primary start with colour and reactions that are fun to watch; older primary children move into physics and kitchen chemistry; middle schoolers design their own experiments — hypothesis, notes, and presentation included. Join at any level that suits your child's age — no need to start from the beginning, and you can stop whenever you like.
Fill in the form and we'll message you on WhatsApp within one working hour to set up a trial class. Your child does their first experiment straight away — usually the volcano.
Private, with a teacher who comes to your home with all the tools and materials, or online with an experiment kit we ship ahead. Decide the number of sessions (from 4) and the schedule.
Every session your child draws and records the experiment in their journal. Every level ends with a report, a certificate, and a mini "science fair" for the family.

Young children ask dozens of "why"s a day. At Science Lab every "why" is answered with an experiment they do themselves — not by memorising.
A concept you once watched erupt or float is far easier to remember when it turns up in a textbook or an exam.
No waiting for months. One session, one finished experiment — your child feels capable straight away and wants to know more.
Guess first, then prove it — right or wrong is equally valuable.
The science journal trains careful looking and honest noting.
At the final level, children design their own experiments.
Presenting experiments to parents at the end of every level.
Many experiments are done in pairs — taking turns, sharing tasks.
Steps, measurements, and safety: science teaches discipline without feeling like it.
The same system we use in partner schools, now for your family.
For private classes, the teacher checks in by GPS on arrival and checks out when finished. You know exactly when it started and ended.
Every session, the teacher uploads photos and a short video of the "wow!" moment — you can watch even from the office.
What concept was learned today, what was understood, what to revisit — written by the teacher, sent to your WhatsApp.
A journal filled in every session: drawing, guess, result. By the end of a level it is a little portfolio to take to school.
At the end of a package your child receives a progress report and an official Light Education certificate, just like students at our partner schools.
Something came up? Let us know a day ahead and the session is moved, not lost.
Every Science Lab teacher holds a teaching certification and teaches science daily at Light Education's partner schools.
Every teacher is Child Safeguarding certified through TeachUp and bound by Light Education's written code of conduct.
Every teacher is certified in HSI First Aid and CPR Training — ready to act should anything happen.
Every experiment uses materials that are safe at home: baking soda, vinegar, food colouring, oil, soap. Goggles, aprons, and trays are provided; anything that needs handling by the teacher is never given to the child.
1 child, 90 minutes, at home or a place of your choice. The teacher brings every tool and material; the table is covered and leftovers go home with the teacher.
4–6 children, 60 minutes, by video call. An experiment kit for several sessions is shipped before class; the teacher guides step by step and everyone experiments together.
Learn in person with friends, in a science room designed for children.
Our studio is being prepared for in-person science classes: small-group experiment tables, a sink, and a display shelf. Meanwhile, private and online classes run as usual.
Opening date will be announced on this page.
Private 1-on-1, together with a sibling, or a small group with friends. At home, at school, at a café, or online. Weekday afternoons, weekends, or an intensive during the school holidays. A science-themed birthday, a summer science camp, science-fair preparation, or a special theme (space, Earth, the human body)? Just tell us what you need — we'll build the class with you. No fixed packages, no rigid minimums.

A science toolbox with goggles, apron, tray, pipettes, measuring cups, and the materials for each experiment — plus a science journal and an illustrated guide. For private classes the teacher brings it; for online classes a kit for several sessions is shipped to your home before the class begins.
Want to repeat a favourite experiment with the family at the weekend? Refill materials can be ordered individually at any time.

A 2-hour party at home or a venue. 6–12 children do 3–4 exciting experiments together — a giant volcano, jumbo bubbles, a lava lamp to take home as the party favour. We bring the teacher, tools, and materials; tables stay stain-free.

An intensive 3 or 5 consecutive days, 2 hours a day, one theme a day (colour, air, water, light, Earth), closing with a mini science fair on the last day. At home, an agreed venue, or online with a kit. Ideal for the June–July and December breaks.
Ask about Science Camp
For schools that want their own hands-on science class: 2–3 days of teacher training using the Science Lab books (6 levels, 96 experiments), complete with lesson plans, student worksheets, and a safe-materials list. Or leave it to us as an after-school programme, as in our partner schools.
Ask about school programmes
For older primary and middle-school students entering a science fair or school science olympiad: 6–8 sessions designing their own project, from question to poster and presentation. Guided by teachers used to coaching competitions.
Ask about fair preparationOne table, one big experiment: parent and child become a team of scientists in a 2-hour weekend session. Perfect for Mother's Day, Father's Day, or simply a Saturday morning.
A voucher for 4 sessions + a science toolbox, sent as a physical or digital card in the giver's name. A gift that doesn't end up in a cupboard.
You host 4–6 neighbourhood children; the teacher comes once a week with all materials; the cost is shared and the host's child learns free.
Short 4-session packages on one theme: space, Earth & weather, the human body, plants, simple electricity.
Science Party at scale for 30–100 employees' children; rotating experiment stations and a homemade lava lamp to take home. Proposal available for HR.
A single 90-minute "lava lamp & volcano" session for communities, cafés, or social groups. An easy first step before a package.
The same curriculum and teachers these schools use for their after-school programmes.
School names are shown as references for Light Education's after-school programmes; they are not sponsors of Science Lab.
After signing up you receive an invitation link. Every friend who joins any package through that link adds one free session for your child and theirs. No limit.
Yes. Every experiment uses household materials: baking soda, vinegar, food colouring, oil, soap, salt, flour. No laboratory chemicals in children's classes. Goggles and aprons are always worn, and anything the teacher needs to handle (hot water, for example) is never given to the child.
Everything is done on trays we bring, with the table covered. Leftover materials go home with the teacher. What usually remains is a child still telling stories about it at bedtime.
Yes, from age 5. Level 1 is designed for K–Grade 1: colour and reaction experiments with instant results, short steps, lots of "wow!". Older children go straight into the level that suits them.
An experiment kit for several sessions is shipped to your home before class, with materials pre-measured. The teacher guides over a video call with the camera on the experiment; every child does it at the same time at home. Parents just provide water, a tray, and a cloth.
Yes. Levels 2–5 align with primary science topics (states of matter, forces, light, mixtures, acids and bases, Earth and the solar system). A concept you have tried yourself is far easier to remember. Level 6 prepares middle schoolers for science fairs and school olympiads.
Sessions can be moved with a day's notice. If you stop, remaining sessions can be transferred to another child or kept for up to 3 months.
Online with a kit: free, and we ship the trial kit. Private at home: a small charge for the teacher's transport, refunded if you continue to a package. No obligation after the trial.
No cost, no obligation to continue. Fill in the form; we'll arrange the rest.
